This is a story from Billy’s grandfather’s Gideon Tjupurrula Jack country, Lake Mackay.

The painting depicts Lake Mackay (wich straddles the border of Western Australia and Northern Territory) as it dries up following the rainy season.

The yellow design around the throughout the work represents marks left by the receding water level. The blue motif symbol in the centre of the work represents the core of the lake with waterholes scattered throughout.
