Myra Yurtiwa Cook was born at a special place called Kartjinguku, a creek situated near Warakurna.

There was a warnampi wati (water snake man) from Pukarra. He had to travel to the Lirrun where the lirru yarnangu (snake people) lived to ask for help. His son was wounded and very sick. He travelled a very long way to get some special medicine for his son. The snake people were going to travel back to Pukarra with the warnampi man to help him and his son but a young man made a mess.
